Hello out there,
My name is Katherine Phillips and I’m the writer of the Walker’s Path web serial. This is my take on the latest release of Walker’s Path. It will be laden with spoilers so make sure to check out the new chapter before reading this!
This Chapter has been on my mind for a really long time. The first formation of the Jesse scene came to me around the time I was writing chapter three. That was last year!
The whole chapter is pretty much Walker, Jesse, and Joy so I was able to really focus on Walkers feelings.(Or lack there of) This was probably the Chapter with the most amount of thoughts in it.
Walker ended up showing a new side to him. I’m talking about the dazed state he was in at the beginning. The new state was an extension of the “stuck in his thoughts” one that he’s had several people nudge him out of. This one however they weren’t able to “wake” him. I see it as him being petrified and on autopilot.
This chapter introduced a new character, Jesse. Spoiler, he’s not actually a customer. We’ll find out more about him later. He’s a seemingly nice guy. Would he be one of the kids who would pick on someone like Walker? Possibly.
I had to change the crash scene several times. It was so hard to make it feel just right. Walker had to be scared, then relaxed, and then well enough to joke around with Jesse. I tried to pace it out as well as I could but I may have to revisit the scene in the future to make it even better.
We got to see a glimpse of Joy’s jealousy for the first time. She one hundred percent senses Walker’s attraction to Jesse. Walker doesn’t really understand it himself so there are some rough waters ahead.
It hurt me to write the “not gay” scene because I knew how it would make Joy feel. Despite them being characters I made up in my head they still feel very real to me.
There’s a lot of story to flesh out especially Walker’s and Joy’s relationship. Huge spoiler here. I want them to be a long time thing. There’s going to be mistakes on both sides and— Well, you’ll have to find out when it all happens.
As always every spoiler I state here is subject to change because I haven’t actually written that far ahead. I’m only around three pages into Chapter 13.
Last WWP I talked about speeding up the story. Obviously it didn’t start with this one.
I don’t have too many goals right now for the story so give me feedback! Make me think about it!
On a personal note, I recently bought a nice mic. I’ve had a lot of experience speaking to people via Twitch and want to put that to good use. So I plan to do some Narration. I’ll start with something like a WWP and then see how I feel about it. If it all goes well I may start reading my stories to people.

PS: The Header for Writing Walker’s Path is a stand in. I plan to make a new one just for this blog. I’ll retroactively change all of the other ones once I get something I like. For now it’s a bit confusing figuring out which blog is a Walker’s Path announcement and which one is WWP.
