DO Chapter 7 is out!

It’s out!

I’m currently about halfway done with Chapter 9 so you have at least one more week of guaranteed content.

I start work again next week and my writing will suffer because of it.

If you didn’t know, I had a car accident back in September and the problems with my feet have only gotten worse. There are weeks at a time that I won’t be able to work. I live with my parents currently so this hasn’t been a problem but since they are moving to Colorado next year I foresee some complications in my future.

I’m going to be car hunting so I can get back on the road and make some money. Although used car prices are dropping they are still extremely over-priced. I don’t have a choice so it is what it is. There was a sense of freedom I got while delivering food to people. Listening to Audiobooks and Podcasts also helped my creativity. I started Dark Offerings because of it.

I plan on learning how to use Reaper (Audio recording software) and start doing voiceover work. Using my writing is the perfect way to practice. The characters in DO are pretty diverse and I plan on releasing the outcome here on my website and possibly as a podcast.

I’ve been having trouble writing lately but just finished Chapter 8. It was tough one for me. I wasn’t sure where I was going to take it.

I know where it’s going now though!

You look like a Writer

Back in 2018, before I started writing, someone told me I looked like a writer. I’d only been to one or two writers’ group meetings and didn’t consider myself one.

For some reason, I took offense and silently protested the idea. At the time I was entirely focused on being behind a camera and not behind a pen.

I already told you the story about me as a teenager writing 7 pages front and back. It didn’t occur to me that I was bitter about that rejection from my mom.

The funny thing is I’ve only ever seen that person who said I looked like a writer once. One silly little time at a Film get-together in a pizza place.

I’m happy that I’ve come to terms with the idea.

My book Adrian is still stuck in editing hell. I’m torn between keeping the style I originally crafted the book in or changing it as my editor/friend suggests.

I’m using a similar style as one of my favorite authors. They aren’t very popular but I’ve been following their work since the late 1990s. I planned to gradually swap the style –which is a part of the story– anyway so I’m not sure if I should keep it.

My editor has some valid points about trans stories needing to be heard.

In other news, Dark Offerings is going pretty well. The reception of the story has been good so far. I’ve reduced my chapter size from around 6k words to 2k. It makes writing them a bit more manageable.

As for Walker’s Path. I haven’t been working on it. I’ve had plenty of time to write but I haven’t felt up to it for some reason. I wonder if I changed the chapter size if it would be easier for me to continue the story in a less stressful way.

If you didn’t know, I was in a car accident back in late September. My car was totaled so I haven’t been working. When I was working I had a hard time writing anything so I don’t know if that’ll happen again. If I can somehow make money from writing and voiceover work I wouldn’t have to worry about the physical stress I get from walking on a hurt foot.

I have all of the equipment to do voiceover work but I need to learn the software. I plan to do a couple of twitch streams focusing on just that. I’ll try and do some Dark Offerings readings so it’ll be fun.

Dark Offerings Chapter 5

Hello out there,

Chapter 5 Burden Free is officially out!

I’m not sure if you’re interested in a “Writing Dark Offerings” type blog. I used to do that for Walker Path (which I will eventually keep writing) but never really got feedback from anyone about it.

If you’re not familiar with the format it’s simply me talking about what I was going through and how I came to write what I did. They would sometimes be long-winded but most of the time they would be short and direct.
