Lethal Falcon and The Winter Weapon?

Hello out there,

I hope everyone is doing well this weekend. I just finished re-watching the first episode of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” .

I’m repeatedly impressed by the shows that Marvel has been putting out. First there was WandaVision (I plan on making a separate post about that.) and then The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It’s such a great time to be alive if you love the Marvel universe.

You probably don’t know about this but I made a post a long time ago on Medium about the series “Lethal Weapon.” It was probably the biggest blog post I’ve ever made. It was all about Clayne Crawford and how Fox, WB, and Damon Wayans did him dirty. I ended up talking to a behind the scenes source all about what happened. You can see that here. (Season 3 never happened.)

The reason I brought that up in a post about a Marvel show is because there are clear parallels in the stories.

For example Riggs is seeing a shrink and dealing with the loss of his wife. Bucky is unstable and is dealing with his past and the loss of his best friend.

Murtaugh is a family man and is dealing with his age. Sam is dealing with family issues and lost his good friend.

It feels so similar in the story telling that I had to write this.

The two characters didn’t meet in the first episode but in the previews there were several scenes they shared that definitely gave off a buddy cop vibe.

If you were a fan of the Lethal Weapon series I really suggest checking out The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Thank you for dropping by,
Katherine
