Competitive Gaming

Hello out there,

My delve into competitive gaming has been less than successful. I didn’t dedicate myself to a single game so I never got really good at any of them. In general, I’m an okay player but I need variety in my life.

I am competitive in nature though and don’t like losing. I’ve lost friends and viewers who were great people because I tend to snap when I play them.

The second I lost a friend from playing competitive gaming I quit. I learned what I think was a valuable lesson that day. Let games be games and if you’re not having fun playing them swap to something that doesn’t get you angry.

So now I play Minecraft, and other survival games where I can only blame myself if I fail.

I’m not against competitive gaming in the least! I understand that my experience is not the same as others and that some people can handle the pressure.

Truthfully I haven’t been watching competitions lately. I used to watch League of Legends matches and they were super exciting! Come to think of it I don’t think I ever got mad when playing League.

What has been your experience with competitive gaming? Do you get angry like I do when you lose?

There’s a bright future for e-sports in fact League of Legends last year had an average of 21 million viewers per minute.

The finals were broadcast in 16 languages and across more than 20 platforms, and in the weeks since the match, we’ve been carefully analyzing viewership from around the world. After collecting, validating, and standardizing the data, we are excited to share that the World Championship Finals reached a record breaking 21.8 million Average Minute Audience (AMA).

It’s amazing how many people are into e-sports. When I was growing up I wished there was something like this. In fact the old movie “The Wizard” helped bring out my competitive nature. Was it a great movie? Not really, it was pretty much a huge advertisement for Super Mario Brothers 3. I wanted the game right as it came out so their advertisements worked.

When Street Fighter II Turbo came out for the Super Nintendo I played that game non-stop. There were few people that could consistently beat me in my friend group and it made me feel powerful.

In the future I plan on watching more of the tournaments out there.

Are you interested in watching e-sports?

Have a great day and I hope all your gaming dreams come true!
